AFROTC Det 645 Alumni Association

Hi Fellow Buckeyes!

It is Spring Quarter and all our thoughts turn to Graduation, the Oval, and of course – the Spring Game and the Urbanization of Ohio State Football.  We have had two great events this year already (Dinner for 12 Buckeyes and the OSU Basketball Tailgate), but there is more!!  Check the News and Notes Section for dates and times of the Triservice Parade, the Pass & Review and Awards, and the Commander’s Breakfast.  We want to see you out supporting the Cadets.  This just hot off the presses – the Football Tailgate will be held 6 October this year; yes that is the Nebraska Game.  We will have 50 tickets (dispensed through a lottery) and a great tailgate so get psyched.  We will send out the Tailgate Application a little later this year and it will explain the lottery and tailgate.  One thing for sure, you will need to pay your annual dues to be eligible.  

We have left the link to Col Turner’s Welcome Letter and a copy of his biography. There are several dates in the letter and plenty of opportunities to get involved. Another Remembrance Park plug - Those that attended the Tailgate got to see firsthand the new Remembrance Park.  A dedication ceremony was held on 2 September and it is a very appropriate memorial honoring all OSU Alumni that died will on active duty. There continues to be an opportunity to honor all veterans, Dads, Moms, Brothers, Sisters, Children by purchasing engraved pavers for the plaza. • Enhance the AFROTC program at The Ohio State University by providing career and officer mentoring to junior officers and Det 645 cadets
• Create a scholarship fund to recognize outstanding Det 645 cadet achievements
• Establish a network of Det 645 alumni to reunite old friendships and establish new ones
• Promote The Ohio State University
• Have fun through social events and get-togethers
