OSU Alumni Club of Knox County

2008 Food for the Hungry

The Knox County Alumni Club expanded its support of Knox County’s Food for the Hungry Campaign.

We acquired two football ornaments and had them autographed by Archie Griffin.  They were then donated to the Interchurch Food for the Hungry auctions in Danville and Fredericktown.

We worked with the Knox County Career Center to obtain Archie’s and Jim Tressel’s autographs for the truck auction.

We also contacted WTVN and adjoining counties to promote the auction.

Members rode in and passed out fliers at Mount Vernon Christmas Parade.

For the fourth year, our club organized the trucks and drivers and drivers for the December 13th food drive.  Fifteen members volunteered their time to drive trucks to food drop-off locations, and then deliver the food to the food pantries in the afternoon.

President Dave Daniels took part in the OSU truck auction broadcast to describe the tailgates featuring the autographs of Archie Griffin and Coach Jim Tressel.
