2008 KNOX COUNTY ANNUAL DINNER

& BUCKEYE SPIRIT BASH

The 2008 Annual Dinner allowed club members and guests to get into the football spirit while socializing with local friends and meeting members of the Ohio State community.  On hand to welcome the crowd was Brutus, with club officers Robia Kaylor and Bob Tiell.   

 

 

Once in the dining room, participants joined special guests L. L. Woody, Buckeyeman, and Buckeye Legends Ami Stevens, John Becker, Jim Moore, Roger Harper, and Rob Kelly, for a delicious meal and conversation.

 

                          

 

After dinner, the drum cadence signaled the arrival of part of the OSU Marching Band.  These 34 musicians gave their time to entertain the group who definitely were appreciative joining in with clapping and singing.  Our thanks to Graduate Asst. Director Brad Williamson for organizing their appearance.

 

           

         

 

                                                                                                                                               

 

 

 

 

While the audience marched around the tables to Le Regiment , Micki Lane did her best to take the part of honorary “I Dotter”.

         

 

 

 

 

 

 

Following the band’s performance and another successful auction that added to our scholarship fund, Dr. Mabel Freeman came to the podium to share the experiences of first-year students at Ohio State and how the quality of the students continues to improve.

 

 

 

The first annual Buckeye Spirit bash ended, but we are already making plans for next year’s event on October 15, 2009!
