SOLICITING COMMITTEE MEMBERS

Social-Chaired by Jim McMahon: 

The Social Committee sets up events to create interesting and fun environments for members to gather, to meet with friends and to make new acquaintances.  Working to meet the diverse interests of our alums and friends, the committee needs members who will assist in suggesting ideas for events; help get the logistics in place for the events; assure that those attending are introduced to others; and get feedback on the social gatherings for future decision making.

Student Recruitment and Scholarships-Chaired by Shanny McMahon:

The Scholarship Committee helps locate prospective students for Ohio State and provides information and encouragement to prospective students. It establishes the criteria for the organization's scholarships, nominates awardees, and maintains information about their experiences on the campus.  It works closely with the University to assure that the awards are presented appropriately.

 The Committee works with the Social Committee to involve current and prospective students and their families in club functions.

Membership-Chaired by Bill Lawyer:

The Membership Committee seeks new members through announcements at all events, on the Website, and through review of the residence lists for Sarasota and Manatee Counties.  It works closely with the Social Committee and the Public Relations Committee to develop a strong rationale for membership.

Public Relations-Chaired by Jamie Tacy

The Public Relations Committee assures that the organization’s events are publicized, that recognition is given to the organization for its scholarships and volunteer activities, and that information is available to share with potential members on the work and activities of the organization.

Website by John August:

The Website Committee will assist the Webmaster in continuing to make the Website inviting and user friendly.  It will assure that the information and photos are up-to-date.    If data are collected through the Website, Committee members will assist in verifying the accuracy of the data and in analyzing the data to make future suggestions related to the content of the information.
