The OSU Alumni Club of SWFL welcomes the men’s soccer team
August 29th, 2010The Ohio State menʼs soccer team will be in Southwest Florida from Sept. 16-18th for the Embassy Suites Kick-off Classic. They will be playing two games on the FGCU campus in Estero. The first game is Thursday, the 16th at 5pm against USF. They play again on Saturday the 18th against FGCU at 7:30 pm. Tickets to each game are $3 and can be purchased at the gamewatch parties at Ale Maryʼs.
The Ohio State Alumni Club of Southwest Florida will host a welcome BBQ for the team on Friday, September 17 from 6-8p at the Stoneybrook Community Center. All local alumni and fans are invited to attend. There is no coast but you MUST register at swflbuckeyes@yahoo.com by September 14.

Pre-season BBQ and picnic
August 10th, 2010The SW Florida Big Ten Alliance is hosting a BBQ at Lakes Regional Park on Sunday, August 22nd from 4pm to 6pm. Fans of all Big Ten schools are welcome to come together in anticipation of a great football season. The Barbecue will feature grilled hamburgers, grilled chicken breast, baked beans, coleslaw, and chips. Cost is $5 per person.

Scholarship awarded for 2010-11 school year

The Ohio State Alumni Club of Southwest Florida is pleased to announce Chelsea Torres of Cape Coral as the recipient of the SWFL Scholarship for the 2010-11 school year. Chelsea was awarded $4400 from the club, as well as $600 from the University Alumni Scholars Program, for a total award of $5000.
The club once again contributed $2500 to the Buckeye Club. The Buckeye Club makes contributions to assist the funding for athletic grant-in-aid and scholarships for student athletes in 36 varsity sports.
