Annual Michigan Raffle Proceeds

Watching the OSU vs. Michigan game

Congratulations and thank you for your generosity! Not only did our Buckeyes whomp on Michigan for a Gold Pants victory, but also our raffle and silent auction raised $1,576 for our endowed scholarship fund! We had a full house (and that's an understatement) of Scarlet and Gray pride! Thank you to everyone who helped make this such a successful year!

Central Virginia Food Bank

October PEANUT BUTTER Drive

The shelves at the Central Virginia Food Bank are bare! In addition to the CVFB’s usual recipients, many of the 4,500 hurricane evacuees in our area are relying on the Food Bank for support. At every game watch in October, the OSU Alumni Club of Greater Richmond will be holding a PEANUT BUTTER DRIVE.

When: October 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th (at the Game Watches)
Bring: canned chicken & ham, canned tuna & salmon, peanut butter, canned vegetables, canned fruits, spaghetti sauce, hot & cold cereals, pasta, or rice

Please consider donating a jar of peanut butter or other needed canned good at the Penn State, Michigan State, Indiana, or Minnesota game watches. Look for the collection box during the game at BW-3’s!

President's Message

Greetings fellow Buckeyes!

I'm very excited to be the new president of the Richmond Alumni Club. I've been in Richmond for two football seasons now, and have enjoyed many Saturdays at BW3's with others who bleed Scarlet and Grey. I've cheered on our Synchronized Swim Team and had more than a few golden beverages at Buckeye Happy Hours. I look forward to the Angel Tree and the annual Student Send-Off Picnic.

I'd like to introduce myself to those of you who may not have met me yet. I grew up in Sylvania, Ohio, a suburb of Toledo. My parents live there with our two chocolate labs - Riley and Murphy.

I spent four wonderful years at OSU. My major was Management and Human Resources, and I graduated in spring 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. While I was at Ohio State, I was initiated into Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, serving in numerous leadership positions, including Director of Recruitment and President. I am a proud Link of the 95th class of Sphinx Senior Honorary; I enjoy returning each spring for the linking of the new class. For several years, I was a member of Strollers Theatrics (now the Scarlet Mask Society, also serving as President and Co-President. In 2001 I was a participant in the LeaderShape Institute at Ohio State; I returned in 2002 as an On-Site Coordinator for the organization.

In August 2005, I'll begin my third year of law school at the University of Richmond. I'll graduate in May 2006 with my Juris Doctor and hopefully go on to a career that allows me to utilize my MHR background, as well as my J.D. I live in the Far West End with my dog Bailey. In addition to serving on the Board of the Alumni Club, I am a class representative for the Student Bar Association at U of R Law School. I am the Social Advisor for the ADPi chapter at Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia. I also serve as Justice for the law school chapter of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity at U of R and am a Senior Staff member of the Richmond Journal of Law & Technology. I am a member of the Richmond Bar Association and The Virginia Bar Association - Young Lawyers Division - Law School Council.

I love Ohio State, and I am so thrilled to be a part of the Richmond Alumni Club! Here's to another year of celebrating old and new memories of OSU. Time and change will surely show, how firm thy friendship, O-HI-O!

GO BUCKS!
